Marissa graduated Randolph College in Lynchburg, VA where she earned her bachelor’s in kinesiology and minor in biology. While at Randolph, she played varsity volleyball from her freshman to junior years. In her Sophomore year, she was awarded the Offensive Player of the Year. In her junior year, she was ranked #1 middle blocker in all of the ODAC conference before the ODAC playoffs. Before her high school and collegiate volleyball career, she was a ballet, modern and tap dancer. Marissa is currently working on getting her National Academy of Sports Medicine personal training certification, and occasionally helps coach volleyball for her father’s volleyball club, Dynamix Volleyball Club in Warrenton, Virginia. When she is not at Verve or on the volleyball court, you can find her somewhere dancing, singing, playing the piano, or exploring Washington D.C.
